- Charge your phone and download your current marine chart for offline use. A phone alone is not a depth sounder.
- Check weather, tide at departure and return, fuel, passengers and required safety gear.
- Follow posted speed and manatee zones; idle near swimmers and anchored boats.
- Keep clear of sandbars, grass flats and unmarked shortcuts. Approach beaches only where your briefing permits.
- If conditions worsen or you cannot identify the channel, return to a known safe area and contact the rental team.
